Government delivered services driving eInfrastructures Connectivity and sustainability: outreach to new user communities Get in touch: Projects Networking session
This session will explore what the main drivers of eInfrastructures are in India and Europe, asking in particular how government and public funded programmes spur the development of eInfrastructures. What are the current case studies, the future plans and visions in India and Europe? There is much value to be gained from using the connectivity that exists between Europe and India, but the use of these infrastructures by research communities in both region needs to be sustainable. How can we ensure new user communities use the eInfrastructures (services) between India and Europe in an ongoing fashion and that the users’ needs are met by the infrastructure? FP7 Overview & Opportunities for Indians and Thematic Proposal Idea Presentations
15:35 - 16:00 Coffee / Tea Networking Break
16:00 - 17:35 Parallel Session A2 Parallel Session B2
eHealth Scientific repositories and the future knowledge infrastructure Get in touch: Projects Networking session
The idea of ultimately having a Europe-wide, or even world-wide, network of millions of machines being used to solve major medical problems that humanity faces is very exciting. How can India – already very active in eHealth - link up to such a future health knowledge infrastructure? What are the opportunities for EU-India e-health cooperation in eInfrastructures? Scientific repositories are essential as eInfrastructures evolve towards future knowledge infrastructures that are service and ‘utility’ oriented. This session will explore scientific repositories, the visions for them in India and the EU. How can the EU best collaborate with India to create worldwide digital repositories of scientific information and knowledge? FP7 Overview & Opportunities for Indians and Thematic Proposal Idea Presentations

10:00 - 11:35 Parallel Session A3 Parallel Session B3
eInfrastructures reducing the digital divide in emerging economies eInfrastructures for Enabling Business EU-India Grid Project information session
This session will analyse the value of eInfrastructures in reducing the digital divide in emerging economies. This session will explore successful case studies in India and also show how lessons can be learned from other regions. How can south-south cooperation in eInfrastructures reduce the digital divide? What is the role for public and private sectors? Through research-industry collaboration, the industrial take up of eInfrastructures can benefit businesses, especially SMEs, and create economic growth. This session will explore how the use of infrastructure by business in India can be increased and what the opportunities are for cooperation with Europe in this respect. What impact will eInfrastructures have on business in India? Discuss with the new EU-India Grid project the priorities for training and interoperability between EGEE and Indian grid infrastructures; and explore possibilities of pilot applications for this new infrastructure
11:35 - 11:55  Coffee / Tea networking breaks
11:55 - 13:30 Parallel Session A4 Parallel Session B4
eInfrastructures for Distance and eLearning Mobile Grid and the eInfrastructures convergence Get in touch: Projects Networking session
There is immense value in harnessing eInfrastructures for distance and elearning - this session will present case studies in both Europe and India. It will also explore the future for this sector, given the convergences caused by eInfrastructures themselves. What are the future trends of distance and e-learning eInfrastructures applications in Europe and India? The objective of this session is to explore the possibilities posed by the convergence of eInfrastructures and mobile technology. How can Europe and India collaborate given their mutual strengths in eInfrastructures and mobile communications? Is this the area of ultimate collaboration between Indian IT excellence and pioneering European eInfrastructures? FP7 Overview & Opportunities for Indians and Thematic Proposal Idea Presentations
