Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC)

Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), an autonomous scientific organization of Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication and IT, Government of India invol ved in research, design, development and deployment of advanced telemedicine products and solutions. They also specialize in embedded & VLSI technology, bio-medical, electronics, telemedicine and entrepreneurship development. It has developed the first total Hospital Information System software in collaboration of SGPGIMS in 1998 to record, store, process and retrieve the health data of all the patients. It has 14 modules covering all the aspects of patient management and patient related administration.


In 2002, it has also developed institution-based application oriented telemedicine software systems Mercury and Sanjeevani and validated them at three premier medical institutions- viz. Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow; All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi; Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh using ISDN and satellite connectivity.
